Certificate Course in Debt Collecting
The objective of this course is to provide comprehensive training in the process of debt collecting.

The Course:

The course will run over approximately 5 months and will include the following:

  • Jurisdiction
  • The Parties
  • Letters of Demand
  • Summons & Causes of Action
  • Default Judgement
  • Execution on the Judgement
  • Emolument Attachments
  • Section 65 Proceedings
  • Costs and Accounting to the Client
  • Defended Actions
  • Debt Collecting Act and Debt Collectors Council

 

The course will include the theory and rules of debt collecting as well as the drafting of all the debt collecting documents (“process”).

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at qualifying capable debt recovery professionals.

Students who wish to pursue a career in Debt Recovery or Credit Management will find this programme extremely valuable.

Those who are in the employment of debt collecting companies or who wish to form their own debt collecting company will also benefit.

Employees of banks, credit/finance houses or in the debtors/credit control offices of any business or enterprise.

Admission requirements:

Grade 12 (matric) or 23 years of age or 2 years working experience.
