Brett Herron is the Director of the South African Law School. Brett graduated from the University of Natal (Durban) with the B.A. LL.B degrees.
He later practised in Cape Town before moving to New York City at the beginning of 1998 where he lived and worked until returning to South Africa at the end of 2001. Since acquiring the South African Law School in August 2002 and assuming the managing role he has focused on re-aligning the existing coursework so that it meets the needs of paralegal students in post-apartheid South Africa. The school has grown in size and reputation under his leadership and is integrally involved in the paralegal movement through his involvement with the National Paralegal Institute. Brett was instrumental in the establishment of the Cape Town Advice Office, a community advice centre which is operated by the school and its students and which is the vehicle for the students' applied skills learning. |
